The Out-and-out Morn
The Out-and-out Morn
by: Shaffi A. Karimah
The sky shows off an orange
tinge,
sunlight penetrates from
the window pane,
the dew drops like a
trickle of water from heaven,
fresh air fills the pulmonary
lung cavity in a breath,
the birds rushes from the
nest,
and the buttercup flower
prepares to bloom.
She stirs a cup of tea,
brings it to the balcony,
sips it little by little,
and leans his weary back in
a chair with two arms.
She closes her eyes,
enjoys the singing of the
birds,
gets a warm kiss on her
forehead,
and smiles without opening
her eyes.
She knows well who that man
is.
"How a perfect morning
this is", she said slowly.
